Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

• You must have and submit a copy of all professional licenses necessary to conduct barbering, designing and/or coloring works on the days when: (i) you submit your entry form; and (ii) the Contest will be held. Applicants and model must be either a citizen of the United States or hold a valid work permit to conduct barbering, designing and/or coloring works.
• No admission fee or purchase is necessary.
• Applicant and model must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age on the days when: (i) you submit your entry form; and (ii) the Contest will be held.
• You must have read, understood and agreed to each and full terms and conditions of the Contest as set forth on www.BigenBarber.com.

2. How to Enter

• You can: (i) pick up an entry form for the Contest at any participating beauty supply or barber stores; or (ii) download an entry form at www.BigenBarber.com.
• You may submit your entry form for the Contest by either:
  1. Mailing the completed entry form with its required attachments (the "Entry Package") to: BIGEN Hair Color Professional Barber Contest • P.O. Box 43349, Atlanta, Georgia • 30336 (or)
  2. Submitting the Entry Package online at www.BigenBarber.com
• Your Entry Package must be received by Hoyu 15 days prior to the contest date of the respective city.
  You may submit only one (1) Entry Package for the Contest. At the sole and absolute discretion of Hoyu, you may be disqualified for submitting more than one (1) Entry Package.
• You can submit an Entry Package only for yourself. You cannot assign your position at the Contest to any other person or entity.
• Your Entry Package must include each of the followings:
• Completed entry form and copy of your current barber license.
• Photos of your coloring, designing and styling works meeting the following requirements:
  1. Three (3) "before" photos (front, back and side view).
  2. Three (3) "after" photos (front, back and side view).
  3. Photo sizes of 5"x7" or 4"x6" are acceptable via mail.
  4. On-line photo size submissions should be at least 400 pixels wide.
  5. All cutting, designing and/or coloring works must be performed on a human model solely by you without any assistance from anyone else.
  6. Models must be at least 21 years of age.
  7. Photos must not be altered in any manner, either graphically, digitally or manually (e.g. No "Photoshop").
• Hoyu America will post contestants on www.BigenBarber.com. Please submit a current photo of yourself with a photo release that gives Hoyu America permission to use your picture.

3. Contest Schedule

1st round – Pre-selection by Photos:

• Pre-selection will be made by photos submitted as a part of the Entry Package.
• Results will be informed to you by mail, phone or email.
• Ten (10) barbers will be selected as contestants to go to the 2nd round – Regional Live Contest.

2nd round – Regional Live Contest

• Regional Live Contests will be held in the following cities: (location and dates to be announced at
• www.BigenBarber.com): Houston TX, Miami FL, Detroit MI and Atlanta, GA.
• Locations and time subject to change. Please go to www.BigenBarber.com for updates. Contestants will be notified in advance of any changes.

3rd round – Final Live Contest

• The winner of each Regional Live Contest must be present at the Final Live Contest to compete in order to be eligible to win any prizes.
• The regional winner and their one (1) model will be flown to the Final Live Contest location and given hotel and food accommodations at Hoyu America's discretion.
• Final Live Contest will be held June 2012 in Atlanta.

• The contestants will be required to conduct cutting, designing and/or coloring works on a human model at the Regional and Final Live Contest.
• If contestants qualify to compete, they must bring the following to the Regional and Final Live Contest:
  • One model per finalist (model cannot be pre-colored or cut).
  • All styling tools and equipment to conduct cutting, designing and/or coloring works.
• Patch test on model will be required forty-eight (48) hours prior to the Live Contest. Failure to complete the patch test in the time allotted will automatically disqualify the finalist.
• Hoyu America will provide the following items at the Regional and Final Live Contest:
  • Bigen hair color, shampoo, conditioners, towels, plastic gloves, capes, bowls and color brushes.
  • All cutting, designing and/or coloring works must be performed on a model solely by you without any assistance from anyone else.
  • Performance time: 90 minutes for cutting, designing and/or coloring works per finalist.

4. Judging Criteria

• Hoyu will provide judges at the Regional and Final Live Contests, who will select winners, in their sole and absolute discretion, based on the following criteria. All decisions by the judges are final and shall not be challenged.
  • Coloring technique and application: Applying Bigen powder hair color to hair only.
  • Cutting and/or designing method and technique: You may apply fading, blending, tapering and outlining techniques.
  • Total Look: You may try formal, casual or sporty look.

5. Announcement of Winners

• Regional winners will be announced after they compete in their respective location and the Final winner will be announced after the Final Live Contest. Regional first, second and third place winners will be selected and awarded $300, $200 and $100 repectively, and other prizes.
• All finalists will be provided 4 entry tickets to attend the presentation for announcement of winners. All finalists must bring their respective models to the announcement ceremony.
• The following prizes will be awarded:
  • 1st prize : $5,000 cash + Trophy + Bigen hair color 3 dz. + Prizes
  • 2nd prize : $1,000 cash + Plaque + Bigen hair color 2 dz. + Prizes
  • 3rd prize : $500 cash + Plaque + Bigen hair color 1 dz. + Prizes
• Winner is responsible for applicable tax.

6. Terms & Conditions/Release

• Your Entry Form shall not be transferable. Upon submission, all photos shall become the exclusive properties of Hoyu. Hoyu reserves all right to the submitted photos and/ or anything that pertains to the Contest.
• Submitted photos will not be returned. Hoyu shall not be responsible for damage of photos.
• Hoyu reserves the rights to collect information and use any photos and videos from the contest before, during and after the show for all their marketing collateral including website.
• Hoyu reserves the right to change and/or modify any terms and/or conditions governing the Contest without any notification to you. If changes should occur they will be posted at www.BigenBarber.com.
